Buckingham on-street parking

The Parking Working Group, established by the County Council’s Buckingham Local Area Forum, has organised a public meeting for Wednesday 25 June, starting at 7pm at the Buckingham Community Centre. The Working Group has been established to consider a range of town centre on-street parking issues that had been raised by residents, business and petition. It plans to consolidate a range of amendments to current arrangements which will hopefully resolve some of the issues brought to the working group’s attention.
The evening will be chaired by me and I will be joined by staff of the County Council to response to technical and procedural issues related to parking controls, and Cllr Ruth Vigor-Hedderly, Cabinet Member for Transport. A senior representative from NSL, the council’s parking enforcement contractor, will also be present to offer advice and answer questions. The working group included town, district and county councillors. The working group will put forward its findings, and request public input to help define proposed changes to the on-street parking arrangements.
I urge all people who work, live, shop, eat and drink in the town centre to attend the event so that they have an opportunity to hear about the challenges and problems that the parking working group has considered, and discuss possible solutions.

Environment, Transport & Localities Select Committee

At todays select committee meeting, I was delighted to be re-elected chairman. We have just commenced a new public transport inquiry, and I am pleased to continue this important project. More details about the select committee can be found on the county council website.
