Town Council

Buckingham Town Council

I was on the town council for eight years, serving from 2005 to 2013, winning two elections. I stood down in 2013 to make time to become a district councillor. During my time I held a number of positions, including chairing the planning committee and being deputy mayor. I also represented the town at the North Bucks Parishes Planning committee and became vice-chairman of the Aylesbury Vale Association of Local Councils. I was honoured to become chairman of the Aylesbury Vale Local Strategic Partnership which introduced to me to working with the other councils, blue-light services and government.

I still work closely with the town council and attend many of their meetings and provide regular reports to their full council meetings on county and district matters that will have an impact on the council and Buckingham.

Town Council Services

The town council runs a number of local services including the management of several parks and the cemetery, providing responses to planning applications, and managing a number of town events such as the annual fire works and pancake race. You can find out more on their website.
